About GHRP-2

Research studies on GHRP-2 have revealed that the synthetic growth hormone secretagogue has oral bio-activity. The research compound binds to the body’s ghrelin (growth hormone secretagogue receptor). Additional reproach trials have confirmed the ability of the compound to trigger muscle growth, improve sleep cycles and regulate the immune system.

What is GHRP-2?

Pralmorelin or GHRP-2, is an artificial growth hormone secretagogue. Apart from binding to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, it is the first artificial growth hormone secretagogue. But it is currently marketed as a research compound. The test peptide is used to assess secondary adrenal failure and growth hormone deficiency. During the stage II clinical trials, the GHRP-2 was investigated. The researchers focused on the compound’s short stature and continued investigating the effects of GHRP-2 on muscle growth, sleep cycles, the immune system, and appetite. Since Pralmorelin is administered orally, there is no need to worry about possible side effects due to injection.

GHRP-2 Research and Effects

Protection and Enhancement of Muscle Structure

Research studies in Yaks revealed that Pralmorelin could enhance muscle growth through key primary ways; decreasing protein degradation and increasing protein deposition. The studies also revealed that the artificial peptide could overcome the natural growth plateaus. Natural growth plateaus occur in Yaks and are caused by food deprivation, adverse environmental conditions and disease. The most prominent discovery from the study was that the Pralmorelin peptide reduces muscle atrophy by inactivating MuRF1 and atrogin-1. The MuRF1 and atrogin-1 proteins are responsible for controlling the muscle degradation pathway. Many researchers are optimistic that the study’s findings can be used to reduce the catabolism rampant in chronic illnesses like cancer and autoimmune diseases.

Appetite Stimulation

Even though appetite stimulation doesn’t seem acutely crucial to most people, it still plays a key role in ensuring the overall good health of an individual. Ingestion of GHRP-2 has been significantly associated with appetite stimulation. Stimulating appetite can help treat patients with chronic illnesses and enhance long-term improvements.

May Protect the Heart

During various research studies, it was discovered that Pralmorelin and its analogues (GHRP-6 and GHRP-1) reduce programmed cell death (apoptosis), hence protecting the heart cells. Reducing programmed cell death is essential, especially after a heart attack. When one suffers a heart attack, the heart cells become prone to programmed cell death due to decreased blood. Research studies have shown that using Hexarelin (analogue of GHRP-2) may effectively prevent apoptosis by having specific inhibiting capabilities to the peptides.

Improving the Immune System

When ingested, the Pralmorelin peptide stimulates the thymus. The thymus is responsible for protecting specific cells of the body’s immune system. In particular, it helps facilitate the T Cells’ maturity, which is critical for adaptive immunity and their ability to fight off complex infections. However, as we age, the functionality of the thymus declines, triggering various age-related dysfunctions like the inability to fight off most infections. Since the Pralmorelin peptide rejuvenates the thymus, thus boosting the diversity and number of T cells and leading to improved immunity.

Improving Sleep Quality

Research studies show that the Pralmorelin peptide increases sleep quality in stages three and four by nearly 50%. The artificial peptide increased REM sleep by almost 20% and substantially improved sleep in individuals deprived of normal sleep. With improved sleep, the individual, in turn, experiences improved cognitive function, energy levels, blood pressure, and healing. More studies on GHRP-2 can help us understand how we can fine-tune our sleep and sleeping patterns, allowing us to reap the full benefits of sleep.

Affecting Pain Perception

In the initial studies of the Pralmorelin peptide, scientists suspected that the peptide triggered decreased pain by boosting growth hormone levels, hence increasing the healing of the damaged tissues. However, more profound observations revealed that GHRP-2 could directly affect pain perception due to its reaction to opioid receptors. Most pain medications cannot discriminate against the opioid receptors, unlike the Pralmorelin peptide, a selective opioid receptor agonist. It may be possible to use selective opioid agonists to prevent and mitigate undesirable effects like addictions and respiratory depression.

The Pralmorelin peptide has excellent potential to improve the overall health of human beings. It can protect and enhance muscle structure, improve the immune system, and even protect the heart cells. Scientists continue researching more on the benefits of the peptide. When administered to mice, the research compound exhibits moderate side effects, excellent subcutaneous bioavailability and low oral. The sale of the Pralmorelin peptides is limited to research scientists and used only for research and educational purposes.

Even though the Pralmorelin peptide isn’t for human consumption, you can continue being updated on the latest research findings of the peptide.
