SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic pan-agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, ERRγ), nuclear receptors that regulate energy metabolism. This compound has garnered attention in biomedical research for its potential to enhance mitochondrial function and mimic the metabolic effects of exercise, earning it the moniker “exercise in a pill.” By activating ERR pathways, SLU-PP-332 may support studies related to metabolic disorders, muscle function, and aging.
SLU-PP-332 is a small-molecule agonist that binds to estrogen-related receptors, particularly exhibiting high affinity for ERRα with an EC50 of 98 nM, and moderate affinity for ERRβ and ERRγ with EC50 values of 230 nM and 430 nM, respectively. Activation of these receptors leads to increased expression of genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis, oxidative phosphorylation, and fatty acid oxidation.
